We met up, we got on the same page, and now we are set

Tonight, me and Connor met up to make sure we were on the same page on what is happening. We both know the procedure, we understand what we are testing, so it's cool. I called Faith, and she is also set. We all understand what is going on. Connor is going to buy the celery, Faith is going to get the food coloring, and I am going to bring the style.

It's all good.

Redo on the blogging!

OK IB Supervisors, here is what happened.

I (Kai) started working on our Group 4 with the rest of my group 2 weeks ago, but I did something quite stupid.

When I made the blog, I was using my alternate email that has been logged in for years but rarely used. Then, a few days ago, my computer forgot the password to that email, and now I cannot access the blog. I tried to reset my password, but it sent the password to my other old email that I made in 5th grade. I do not know the password for that either. So now I cannot access the blog, and for some reason, some of the posts are screwed up.

So this is the new blog! And now, I will summarize what the other blog had said.

At the start of Group 4, this group decided that each member would independently research silly putty, water, and celery in search of possible experiments. Each of us were unable to meet in person over this time, because each of us have extremely conflicting schedules. However, we have been corresponding over the phone. After some bickering, we eventually decided on a simple experiment, which I will now detail.

Silly putty dissolves in rubbing alcohol. Since rubbing alcohol is a simple solution of three chemicals (acetone, ethanol, methyl isobutyl ketone) which are in the Chemicals cabinet at school, we will test to see which, if any, of the individual components of Rubbing Alcohol will dissolve silly putty.

We have decided on the independent, dependent, and control variables.

Independent: Which chemical we use.

Dependent: Whether or not the silly putty dissolves.

Control: Amount of chemical used (25ml).

So now that I have summarized what the previous blog said, let's move on to today's post.

We finally found a night we could mostly meet! Tonight (Wednesday, February 27) Me (Kai) and Connor are going to meet a little after 7 to iron out the kinks in a procedure and make sure we all understand what the experiment is, as well as voice any concerns we might have. Unfortunately, Faith is not available any night this week except Friday, and I am not available that night. In light of this, me and Connor will meet and discuss the experiment, and I will call Faith when she becomes available. I will relay the substance of the meeting to Faith, and we can discuss any questions or concerns she has.

Things are moving smoothly!
